It was a cold December evening in 2007 when Best Fun Ever and a few of his lucky friends arrived at the Long Island
Greyhound Transfer Adoption Center. Best Fun and his friends were extremely thin, (racing weight), they were shy,
frightened, and were missing hair on their bodies as a result of the cages they lived in. Best Fun had scratches all over his
beautiful muscular body. Although they all had racing names, they did not know them. They were all now officially retired.
Best Fun was immediately renamed Jack by his new owners.
He ran 23 races and placed in a few of them. When he arrived at his new home, he did not know how to walk up and down
stairs, he did not know what a window was, basically , he had never been inside a house. He was considered a textbook
rescue. It took him a long time to relax and learn that he was safe in a caring home.
Today, Jack is living a happy life in a loving home. He is sweet, soft, and is learning to be a pet. He was the inspiration to
forming this organization.
